I decided to get a dog from Citari Kennels early summer at the age of 14. This is the 4th dog from him and the third generation buying from Citari Kennels. I came and picked him up August 22 and trained him starting the first week. With school being delayed, I train him almost every day teaching him commands and getting him to fetch. We used pheasant wings to start getting him to use his nose and did some scent drags. Today, October 17 we decided to get him out pheasant hunting just so he would get a chance to see some birds and get him excited. He is almost 4 months old, and has an unbelievable hunting drive. He ended up flushing a hen ,a cock, and a few woodcock doing a great job hunting today. Chase Thayer Blandford Ma.

I bought my pup Cody from David 14 years ago he has been the best hunter and my best friend he is treated like a son as my wife and i have no children. His drive in the field is unbelievable and at 14 years old the heart and mind are still as if he was 2 but his body is saying no. He has had 0 health issues and is still going strong just slower. He is great around kids and strangers and loves to play fetch for hours even now. I just put in for the spring litter of David’s pups this year i figured why mess with a good thing . I can’t wait for my new best friend and son . Thank you David keep doing what you’re doing. Chris Lashua.

I always have my dogs’ hips and elbows certified shortly after their 2nd birthday, and I’m happy to report that Knox received OFA grades of normal for elbows and Excellent for hips. He’s a strong and muscular 50lbs, a little longer than he is tall, and in my opinion perfectly built for the grouse woods of Maine. We receive a lot of compliments on his build from our vet as well as most people he meets. A testament to the quality of dogs you breed. I have attached a few photos from this year.   He really came into his own this fall during his first real hunting season and is developing into a very good wild bird dog. His drive and quality of nose were obvious at an early age but his intelligence and cooperation really showed in the grouse woods this year. I hunted him about 30days this fall but it didn’t take him long to start identifying what the most productive bird cover is and how to hunt those objectives within the larger cover. He always knows where I am and works to produce birds for the gun. In my opinion these are skills a smart and cooperative dog will work out for themselves. He is a…
