David,   I hope this email finds you well. I just wanted to give you a quick update on a puppy I purchased from you. I took the 2nd male from the 2017 breeding of Riley and Hawk. I always have my dogs’ hips and elbows certified shortly after their 2nd birthday, and I’m happy to report that Knox received OFA grades of normal for elbows and Excellent for hips. He’s a strong and muscular 50lbs, a little longer than he is tall, and in my opinion perfectly built for the grouse woods of Maine. We receive a lot of compliments on his build from our vet as well as most people he meets. A testament to the quality of dogs you breed. I have attached a few photos from this year.   He really came into his own this fall during his first real hunting season and is developing into a very good wild bird dog. His drive and quality of nose were obvious at an early age but his intelligence and cooperation really showed in the grouse woods this year. I hunted him about 30days this fall but it didn’t take him long to start identifying what the most productive bird cover is and how to hunt those objectives within the larger cover. Courtney Riordan’s IPWDA Certificate

By | Springer Spaniel Reviews

Good morning!   I wanted to let you know that this passed weekend one of your pups certified with the international police work dog association for a 160 acre wilderness search. This is a big accomplishment and the search and rescue team her and I are on, as well as the master trainers certifying her have been very impressed with her work ethic and temperament. She is an amazing dog and there is nothing I can’t do with her. Thank you for such a great girl. Here is a picture of her certification. Now that we have completed this discipline she will be training in human remains detection work next.   Sincerely, Courtney Riordan

When we began looking for a Springer Spaniel we knew we wanted both a hunting companion and a family pet. Citari Kennels produces that exemplifies what we love and look for in a Springer Spaniel: temperament, biddability, a strong desire to please, and raw natural hunting instincts at a very young age. Our dog Riggins, from Citari’s  Sassy and Hawk, has truly been a pleasure to train and hunt over. In the field he is biddable, birdy, and a force to be reckoned with. At just over a year  he had two passes towards his Junior Hunter Title and is ready to start training towards his Senior Hunter this year. At home he is a love and desires nothing more than to be with us. He gets along every person and dog alike. We look forward to seeing Riggins progress and will certainly be returning to Citari and David for our next Springer! Best, Evan & Kerin Cavanaugh Hanover, NH
